English choral music is among the most beloved in the world, so for the Spring concert we give you “Hail, Brittania”, a presentation of pieces from the British Isles, including music of Charles Stanford, Ralph Vaughn Williams, John Rutter, Benjamin Britten, and George F. Handel, just to name a few. If you love the soaring sounds of choral music at its finest, this is the must-hear concert of the year!

Winter Concert, December 2014

Phil Theodorou, Music Director
Stephanie Hutchinson, Accompanist

Classics meet modern in our Winter presentation that celebrates the birth of Jesus, the season of Hanukkah, and many other delights. At the center of this concert, dedicated to the magical moment which comes every midnight on Christmas Eve, will be the beautiful Messe de Minuit pour Noel by baroque French composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier. Borrowing celebrated carol tunes of his time, Charpentier weaves a gorgeous tapestry of sound with voice and instruments using traditional Latin texts. Included in this concert will be favorites by Morten Lauridsen, John Rutter, J.S. Bach, and many others. Get into the holiday mood with us!
And once again we will partner with St. Joseph Center in Venice to provide canned goods for their food pantry.
